Lift, reshape and feel great with the C Section belly band and extra strap. Soft control comes to your aid after pregnancy and surgery. It is like a personal assistant to help you get out of bed and care for baby.
Soft cotton has 2 straps so you can angle the support. Add a separate strap across your back or tummy to target the incision or the support you need. Easy to wear, it reshapes and reduces tummy and stress. Diastasis Recti can be reduced with binding.
Be sure to add 2 to 5 inches for post surgical swelling when you measure. For example: 36 inches now at the location of the operation, add 3 inches for a total of 39 inches, so a small would be the size.
Sizing chart
Due to the unique changing size and shape a woman's body goes through during and after pregnancy, this guideline will help you choose the best fit for your AbdoMend C Section Support Binder and Strap and Hem It In support binder. Before taking the binder to the hospital, be sure to check the size for your body and please practice putting it on, so it is easy to use. Contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
- Measure around your belly 2 inches below your belly button at the 9th month of pregnancy.
- Take your measurement 2 inches below your belly button around the upper hip area, not up at the waist.
- At 9 months subtract 3-5 inches (4-8 inches for twins) for your post birth estimate. Reduce pre birth weight by 10-15lbs for post birth weight (twins 20lbs).
- If you are not pregnant but need the support, just go with the measurement you read.
- These guidelines are based on an average height of 5 feet 6 inches. Please adjust to your needs.
- Weight, height and type of body (larger hips or larger breasts) must be taken into account.
- Example at 38 weeks: a 47 inch measurement minus 4 inches for baby is 43 inches, which is a medium size for post birth.
Pregnancy support sizing guideline: when 7 or 8 months pregnant, consider that you will be growing by 3 to 5 inches until your 8th and 9th month. You can purchase 2 binders, one in each size, so you can have pregnancy support and after baby's birth support.
Please be aware that your support binder may stretch while being worn during pregnancy. Women often buy one for pregnancy support, and a smaller size for after the birth. After surgery support is with the AbdoMend Support binder and strap. The best support immediately after a vaginal birth is with our Hem-It-In Binder, which has a stronger inner elastic system. This binder may also be used for additional support 2-3 weeks after a C-Section, or if you enjoy compression after your birth, surgical or vaginal.
Your AbdoMend Recovery binders are designed with 6 to 9 inches of adjustability to help you transition through your recovery and back to your unique pre-pregnancy shape.
How to put on your AbdoMend belt
The AbdoMend Support belt is easy to put on and feels great. For vertical or horizontal incisions, it adjusts easily and the cotton material makes for a comfortable fit.
Put on the belt before getting out of bed, or rolling to your side, for at least 1 to 3 weeks post surgery. Allow your skin to breathe several times a day by opening the belt while lying down.
Our DVD provides you with signs of infections and easy massage moves to help you recover. It has techniques to bring comfort for the first 3 weeks post surgery, with follow up massage techniques for up to one year. Wear the belt for as long as you need support, and remember, massage daily. It is also important to ask for help and support from family and friends.
Please call your Doctor if you have a fever, or have severe shooting pain or red streaks.
The cotton belt is worn low for a low incision, and the belt can be turned upside down for a surgery above the belly button, with the extra strap applied for more support.
